TCM is a learner-centered approach

Many voice teachers use imagery and metaphors in order to convey technical or expressive instructions, yet in some cases these may be more confusing than helpful, or they may fail to match the singer’s own sensorial mapping of what is going on "inside". During a lesson or coaching session, TCM instructors will tailor the instructions to what the singer is most receptive to – visual imagery, aural or kinesthetic vocabulary – and they will ask feedback from the singer to make sure that both are on the same wavelength.

TCM is an evidence-based approach to vocal health and singing. Created by British voice researcher and teacher Allan Wright, TCM synthesizes 15 years of research in vocal physiology, acoustics, vocal rehabilitation and vocal pedagogy.
